Electrical substations are constantly exposed to various environmental hazards. Faults caused by contact with animals, birds, and foreign objects at the 33/20 kV medium-voltage connections of substations are among the incidents that can lead to short circuits and power outages within the substation.
In response to these challenges, Lian Mehregan Sanat Electrical & Energy Engineering Company (Lianiroo), drawing on the expertise of domestic specialists and international experience, has developed and manufactured, for the first time in Iran, silicone covers for medium-voltage equipment and connections in electrical substations using a unique manufacturing method.
These covers can be easily installed using fastening buttons. During operation, thanks to the outstanding properties of silicone compared with other polymers, the covers can withstand harsh weather conditions, UV radiation, and high temperatures. They are also flame-retardant and provide a minimum service life of 15 years.
